About the caregiver

Hi, I’m Melody: a lifelong animal lover, former cat mom, rescue worker, and volunteer with REAL kennel experience! Prior to obtaining my bachelor's degree, I worked as a Kennel Assistant at BASS Animal Rescue in Bloomingdale, New Jersey, where I helped care for cats & kittens while they waited for adoption. I also co-founded Kitty Krew, a northern New Jersey network of animal care volunteers, animal rights advocates, and pet enthusiasts. My experience includes feeding, refreshing water, cleaning litter boxes and enclosures, washing linens, monitoring animal health and safety, and giving pets gentle socialization so they can feel safe, respected, and cared for. I also volunteered with supervising dogs during their outdoor potty/play time at the shelter. While the bulk of my shelter experience up to this point has been with cats, I’m excited to keep building experience with dogs here on Wag! I’m responsive, punctual, and careful with instructions, and I'm always happy to provide updates so you know your beloved pet is safe and cared for. Outside of pet care, I’m a vocalist, visual artist, & graduate of Berklee College of Music. I see music as a form of community service, and I bring the same attitude - care, patience, attentiveness, and respect - to every pet care job. Whether your pet needs a walk, a visit, a meal, litter care, company, or simply a calm presence while you’re away, I’ll do my best to help them feel safe, comfortable, and cared for, every time.
