About the caregiver

I have had dogs all my life, some small but most large breeds. I have been a dog walker at a local homeless dog shelter for 12 years giving me experience walking dogs of all sizes, breeds, ages and temperaments. At the shelter, I was given additional training so was considered a level 2 walker and assigned to walk dogs that were sometimes more difficult or challenging to deal with. But most important of all, I LOVE dogs, and I love to walk. And I am not working so am available at all times. Also, when I was a child, I wanted a dog but my parents didn’t want to get me one because they thought they would be the one to have to walk it, so they got me a cat. Unfortunately, that cat got hit by a car when it was about a year old, so they got me another cat who was an inside only cat. I think they thought “Ginny will grow up and move away and the cat will be gone by then”. Ginny grew up and went to college and the cat lived on. Ginny married a Marine and moved to Okinawa, and the cat lived on. Finally, Ginny got the cat back and she lived until she was 15 (the cat, not Ginny 😂). So not only do I have a lot of dog experience, I also have a lot of cat experience. My husband is allergic to cats so this is the only way I can get my cat fix!
