Oakland Park
This cute residential Florida city is very close to Interstate 95, restaurants, schools, and golf courses. Oakland Bark Park gives your pup the chance to play and socialize in a secure, fenced environment. The park has two separate areas for large and small dogs, agility courses, and water to keep your pooch healthy and hydrated! The annual Barktoberfest is held every October where they have food, fun, and beverages to help raise funds that benefit local rescue and adoption efforts. If you’re feeling hungry, Stout Irish Pub, Tatts & Tacos, Big Dog Station, and the Rendez Vous Baker & Bistro are the local eateries that permit pooches!

This easily-accessible, family-oriented city has a lot of local restaurants, schools, and shopping. The Colohatchee Bark Park is a secured, off-leash dog park that does require you to register in order to use it. The park includes two areas for big and little pups, agility equipment, a pool and drinking water! For a fun local event, make sure to check out the annual Spooktacular Pet Parade held in October where you and your pup can participate in a pet/human costume contest and win raffles and prizes! If you just want to grab a quick bite to eat, Georgie’s Alibi Monkey Bar, and Shawn & Nick’s Courtyard Café allow doggies to dine on their patios.

Fort Lauderdale
This large city is just a short 3.5 miles from Washington Park and provides residents and guests with endless choices of restaurants, entertainment and recreation! Canine Beach allows dogs to play in the ocean Fridays, Saturdays and Sundays from 3-9 PM (April-October) and from 3-7 PM (November-March). Riverwalk Linear Park allows dogs that are on-leash to walk and enjoy the park. However, a permit is required for your pup for safety and insurance purposes. The Bark Park, located in Snyder Park, has two areas for big and small pooches and an agility course to keep your dog in tip top shape!

South Fort Lauderdale
A short 10-minute jaunt south of Washington Park will land you in South Fort Lauderdale, an extremely accessible residential neighborhood located directly off Interstates 95 and 595. The Oakridge Dog Park is a designated space for dogs to play and socialize in a safe, off-leash environment. Or, if you’re feeling more adventurous, Performance Pups Freshwater Dog Beach is just the place. They allow dogs to play and swim off-leash in a fenced in area where they can exercise, socialize and cool down all at the same time. However, humans are not allowed in the water, so please exercise caution.
