Old Flossmoor
Old Flossmore is as you can guess, the older part of the town. Although older, it's still a relevant neighborhood when it comes to dog-friendliness. Owners and their dogs can travel to Leavitt Park, where you and a leashed up Fido can take a leisurely stroll through the perennial garden and sculpture park. Right down the street is Flossmoor park, and gives Fido a better chance to run around and be wild, where he can run off-leash in the ballfield, as long as no one is throwing a ball there. Outside the ballfield, dogs must remain leashed and cleaned up after, which is more comfortable with two separate clean-up stations around the park.36

Heather Hill
If you live in the Heather Hill neighborhood on Flossmoor, you're in luck when it comes to having a place to walk Fido. The community hosts Highland Park, a trail oriented park that's shaded, grassy and just darn right enjoyable to visit. The path is only .2 miles, but travels through a wooded area, and is set aside from the playfields in the park. It has an abundance of benches and a clean-up station at the end of the trail. The park is also down the street from Lou Malnati's Pizzeria, a pizza venue with dog-friendly outdoor seating and a dog's most favorite treat: Pizza crust.

Flossmoor
The Flossmoor neighborhood of the same name as the city is on the west side, and on the edge of the Forest Preserves of Cook County, the perfect place to go for a quiet run with your dog. Dogs are allowed into the preserve as long as they remain on a leash. Hike the 3.6-mile trail, or run around in the open fields of the preserve. Restrooms, trash bins, and clean-up stations are in the parking lot of the preserve for easy access. Be sure to bring water with you into the park.12

Flossmoor Highlands
Flossmoor Highlands holds something you wouldn't think would be in a suburb of Chicago: a 585-acre prairie in the Bartel Grasslands. What makes this place so extraordinary for dog lovers is every part is dog-friendly! Dogs must remain on a leash, but can come with you to stroll through the open fields, walk along the mowed path, or climb the mound to get a view of the entire prairie. The park doesn't have amenities like trash bins, water fountains or clean-up stations, so be prepared if you're going to bring Fido!

Ballantrae
The Ballantrae neighborhood is nestled right against Heather Hills, and offers the Ballantrae Park. The park features a .4-mile walking trail that dogs are welcome to enjoy as long as they remain on a leash. There;s aso picnic areas with a covered barbeque for a tasty outdoor meal. The park is well kept, and the clean-up stations are kept well stocked. There are water fountains and benches, and even some shaded area for when you and Fido are getting too hot.
