This neighborhood is home to Baker’s one off-leash dog run, Raising Cane’s Dog Park at Greenwood Community Park. This furrific dog park has separate fenced-in areas for large and small dogs to play in. There’s also a pavilion and plenty of benches for owners, and a dog water station is available. Bring some toys for your pup to play with, and enjoy spending a few hours with them here. After your pup is finished playing at the park, take them for an on-leash walk on Greenwood Community Park’s beautiful lakeside path. You and your pup will both have a good time strolling on this scenic path!

South Baton Rouge is home to another woof-derful off-leash area, Burbank Dog Park. Located 23 miles from Baker, this dog park has separate areas for big and small dogs. Want to take a walk with your dog through a peaceful garden? Head over to LSU AgCenter Botanic Garden in Acadiana. This botanic garden is located 15 miles from Baker, and it welcomes dogs on-leash. While you’re here, you and your dog can explore three miles of hiking trails that pass by swamps and go through an arboretum. You can also check out beautifully manicured gardens filled with native Louisiana plants. After you’re finished exploring the garden, grab lunch with your pup at The Bulldog. This restaurant welcomes dogs on the outdoor patio and serves classic Louisiana seafood dishes, including grilled grouper sandwiches, Cajun crawfish tails, and Cajun catfish.
