Chebeague Island

The Chebeague Island neighborhood, located on the northeast side of Great Chebeague Island, is a seaside vacation community. Dogs and their owners can take a walk along country roads to enjoy the fresh ocean breezes. When you want to stroll along a sandy beach, take your pup to Hamilton Beach. Take time to look for seagrass and treasures from Casco Bay here. Bring along a beach chair or blanket and have a picnic by the water. Dogs are permitted to join you as long as you keep them on a leash or under your control at all times and you pick up their waste.

Central Landing

On the east side of Great Chebeague Island, you'll find the neighborhood of Central Landing. Here, you and Fido can go for a walk along a quiet beach or wander down wooded country roads. Bring your boat to Chebeague Island Boat Yard and cast out into Casco Bay to spend a day on the water with your pup. You can also take your pooch hiking along the sandy beach that's adjacent to the boat yard. Relax by the water with your pooch or look for shells and other treasures. Dogs are welcome as long as they're under your control and you clean up after them.

Western Landing

The Western Landing neighborhood on the southwest side of the island is nestled along Coleman Cove. In this area, you and your pooch have access to a sandy beach and a pawtacular view. Head north to walk along the sand between Coleman and Johnson Coves. If you want to do some exploring in a scenic area, take your pup to Deer Point. Hike through the pine forest to the rocky ledges and shoreline. You can bring along some lunch to share a picnic with your special pal then take some time to look for sea glass. Dogs are permitted in public areas provided you keep them under control and clean up their messes.

Chandler Cove

Chandler Cove is a small community nestled between Deer Point and Little Chebeague Island. This area features private residences, a rocky shoreline, and Chandler's Wharf. Bring your pup to this popular local gathering place. You can bring along your pole and go fishing off the pier for squid while your special pal relaxes by your side. If you want to wander along the beach with your pup, head north of the Wharf and take Chandler Cove Field Road to the beach area. Dogs can join you as long as you have them under your control and you pick up their droppings.

Sunset Landing

On the southeast side of Chebeague Island, you and Fido can go exploring or catch spectacular sunsets on the beach at Sunset Landing. Come to this secluded spot and watch the sun go down right in front of you with your pawesome pal. For a special adventure, head down to Indian Point at low tide and walk across the sandbar to Little Chebeague Island. Hike around this uninhabited area and view the nature and ruins of previous homesteads. Make sure you keep track of the tide schedule to avoid being trapped on the island. Dogs can accompany you as long as you have them under your control.
