When you are out exploring Fairmont, you are bound to get hungry! Drop into the Dairy Queen for a bite to eat. Here you can dig into some burgers, sandwiches, hotdogs and tasty desserts. Of course, if your pooch has been a good boy or girl, don’t forget to order a special Pup Cup! If you are visiting Fairmont and need a dog friendly place to stay for the night, you can check in to the Super 8 Motel. Here you can bring two pups of any size for only a small additional fee for your stay. You can also enjoy a good night’s sleep at the Hampton Inn. You are welcome to bring two furry friends of any size and you will only have to pay a small additional fee for your stay.

For a pawsome day in the sun with your beloved companion, head to Wards Park in Fairmont. This is a pawsome place where you can chill out and admire the views of Sisseton Lake, as well as let your pooch bound around on the grass. There is also a playground for the kids to enjoy at Wards Park, as well as plenty of trees for shade. If you get hungry, stop at the Dairy Cream Corner. Here you can get your paws into some delicious ice cream and a refreshing shake, as well as relax out at the picnic table area with your furry friend – bone-a-petit!

Ceylon/ Dunnell
For an adventure with your furry friend, head to East Chain State Wildlife Management Area in Fairmont! This is a pawsome place where you can retreat from the hustle and bustle of the city and enjoy nature with your pooch. There are sniff-tastic trails through the woodlands here where your canine can investigate new scents and sights on the 239 acres of land. There is also the oppawtunity to hunt, with deer, turkey and small game. All pups should be on leash when you are at East Chain Wildlife Management Area. Since there are no facilities here, be sure to bring some fresh water for your doggo.

Sherburn
A puptastic place you can visit for a day out with your beloved companion is Fox Lake! This pawsome spot is located in Sherburn just next door to the west of Fairmont. Here you can enjoy some sun and fresh air with your furry friend, with lots of green grass for your pooch to roll and roam. Since you are next to the Fox Lake, you can take the oppawtunity to fish and enjoy the scenery. Just around the lake you will also find the Fox Lake Campground. Here you can overnight and there are hook ups you can use, as well as camping and fire pits.

Blue Earth
Every pup loves a trip to the park; so, why not jump in the car and head over to Leland Park in Blue Earth! This is a pawsome place for pooches since you can go exploring on the green grass, as well as investigate all of the trees here. This means that there is plenty of shade on hot days, and the Blue Earth River runs through here for a scenic walk, or a splash. Just across the street, you will also find the Beyer Field, where there is plenty of space for playing fetch and enjoying some playtime with your pup.
