Take your pup out on a hike along the Galena Brick Trail/ Ohio to Erie Trail. This dogtastic trail is a whopping 271.9-miles long, spanning fourteen counties in Ohio. The trail surface is a mixture of asphalt, concerte, and crushed stone making it a little easier for you pup to hike along. The trail will take you along the Ohio River and all the way to Lake Erie in Cleveland if you follow the entire path. Hike as much or as little as you like. Make sure to keep your pup on a leash the entire time you are hiking, and don't forget clean-up bags.

Mariposa Drive

Head out to McNamara Park for a fun afternoon out with your dog. The park sits along the water, perfect for a water loving pup. There is a playground, picnic area, and restrooms inside of the park, plus a great grass area for fetch. Your dog will love walking on the paved path that goes throughout the park, which is also lined with benches for a rest. Make sure to keep your dog on a leash while you are hanging out at the park, and don't forget to bring your clean-up bags with you.

Crystal Valley Drive/ Valley Chase Court

The Alum Creek Dam is a great area to head to with your furry pal. This beautiful park offers you and Fido an ample amount of space to hike around and explore. There is a picnic area and a variety of playgrounds that you can enjoy as well. There are restrooms for owners, and the trail is covered in trees to give you both plenty of shade while you hike around the dam. Make sure your dog stays on a leash while you are visiting, especailly since this area can get pretty busy. Don't forget your clean-up bags.

Sage Creek

If Fido is looking for a smaller trail to experience with you, look no further then the Sandel Legacy Trail. This .6-mile trail is perfect for first time hikers who are just looking to dip their toes into hiking. The trail is covered in trees to help provide shade, and is open 24-hours, so you and your dog can use it at any time. There trail is usually frequented by wild aninals, so make sure to keep your dog on a leash when you are hiking, and don't forget to bring water. Located in Sunbury, and only two miles out of Galena, your dog will love hiking this trail.

Hoover Reservoir North

The Hoover Reservoir Park is a pawsome park to go hang out at with your dog by your side. This 4700-acre park has some dogtastic amenities, like a large natural space for fetch, a lake, fishing, and bird watching. Your pup will love running on all the open grass, or exploring around the lake with you. Keep your pup on leash since since there is a lot of wildlife in this area, and don't forget to bring clean-up bags. Located in Westerville, and only eight miles out of Galena, your dog will love his mini car ride to go and check out this amazing park.
