Wag! Walkers know Lakeview
Lakeview is a quiet wooded neighborhood just a block away from Bella Vista Lake. Located in the southeast suburbs of Bella Vista, it is surrounded by hiking and walking trails while still being only minutes away from many of the conveniences you and your dog might need. To the north about 5 minutes away by car you will find both restaurants and a vet to take care of all of Fido’s health needs. There is also a dog daycare and boarding facility close by.
The best part about Lakeview is being within walking distance of Bella Vista Lake Park and the trail that goes around it. The park is dog-friendly and even has a dog station. If the 1.75-mile loop around the lake isn’t enough for you it also links to the 3.4-mile Wishing Springs Trail that connects between Bella Vista and Bentonville. Finally, to the north is the Blowing Springs trail, a 3.8-mile moderate difficulty hike for those who want a bit more of a challenge. With over 200 sunny days a year in the Bella Vista area and summer temperatures in the 80’s, it leaves plenty of time to explore all of the trails in the area.

Lakeview terrain offers a little of something for everyone. There are both flat and hilly areas to walk and much of the area is rural, with plenty of trees, creeks, lakes, and even a waterfall on the Blowing Springs Trail loop. You will find picnic benches and shady areas on most of the routes to allow for rest breaks or a mid-day lunch. The Bella Vista Lake Loop is more geared to beginners and those who do not want a big workout. There is only a 26-foot terrain gain and the paths are either asphalt or concrete. Don’t worry about the concrete on your dog’s feet though, there is also plenty of grass for them to walk or roll in. If you are up for more of a challenge, consider the Blowing Springs Trail loop, it has a 341-foot terrain gain and is rated as a moderately difficult hike. Of course, if you would prefer you can take a walk on many of the quiet side streets in the Lakeview area. The area is not heavily populated, and with lots of trees and grass, it is a pleasant place for you and your dog to explore.

Bella Vista Lake trail is listed as a greenway due to the wide swaths of green grass and other vegetation that inhabits the areas around the trail. There are 132 acres in all at Bella Vista Lake, much of it is devoted to grassy open areas where any dog would love to play. In addition to a great place to take your dog, there is also a play area for kids, and a veteran’s memorial you might take in while there. There are two other parks in the area, the Sugar Creek Soccer Park, which does not allow pets, and The Blowing Springs Park, which does allow pets and is situated in the midst of the Blowing Springs trail loop.
