Sitting on the Western bank of Lake Windsor, Mayfair Drive forms a small circle around a gathering of other streets to make up a moderately sized suburban neighborhood. The neighborhood mostly has lakefront properties with few businesses, but more than enough space for someone hoping to have a walk along the edge of the water. With some of the homes even having their own personal docks, the area attracts those with a love of the water, though even if you’re much more interested in staying on land, there are plenty of side streets to wander down and explore. Mayfair Drive both begins and ends on the larger Chelsea Road, but even within its borders, it provides both paved road and some greener areas to explore. Be ready for some humidity in the summer months, as the nearby lake will contribute to some muggy days in the hotter season. Otherwise, Mayfair Drive offers a leisurely, if lengthy, path around a scenic part of Bella Vista.
Unfortunately for those looking for local parks or open greenways to visit, all of Mayfair Drive is residential and most of the greener areas are within yards or in between homes. Much of the area is property that is privately owned, so it’s wise to be certain of where you’re walking, just in case. Though Mayfair has little to offer in ways of public access areas, North of Lake Windsor and to the East of Lake Avalon is the Tanyard Creek Nature Trail, which takes visitors through the wooded areas along Lake Windsor’s northern shore and up towards the much smaller Tanyard Creek. It may be a bit of a trip away from Mayfair, but nature lovers may find the journey worth the effort. Within the neighborhood itself, expect to mostly stay on the road with the occasional small wooded area in between houses.
