You may know Dallas as the home of Cowboys football, but did you know it also hosts lots of dog-friendly bars where you can relax, visit friends and sip beer, cocktails and wine with your furry bestie?
From English-style taverns to bars with dog parks, Dallas is the place to step out with your furry pal for a bite to eat and some drinks. Dallas’s bar scene is a howling good time! Here’s a list of dog-friendly places for you and Bosco to enjoy! Be sure to bring some dog wine or beer along so your fur-buddy will have something fun to drink, too.
Mutts Canine Cantina at 2889 Cityplace West Boulevard has bent over backward to make sure you - and your pupster - have a great time! Not only do they provide a pawsome patio where leashed doggos can hunker down with a burger or other treat, but there’s also a large play yard where they can frolic off-leash, too! Small pups have their own area, and pup parents can sit inside the dog park sipping a brew while the pooches play. Mutts Canine Cantina also provides attendants that keep an eye on things, ensure there’s plenty of water, and clean up so you can relax. The dog park is members-only, but their reasonable fees for a whole day of fun can’t be beat!
Food at Mutts is casual fare that can be shared with Fido, but it also offers Doggie Dog: bite-size pieces of 100 percent all-beef franks for the pooch to snack on. For dessert, Fido will enjoy a pupsicle made with peanut butter frozen in chicken broth on an edible stick. For humans, the food includes chicken, breakfast items, burgers and grilled cheese with hot pickles inside. Offering craft beers to cocktails, Mutts Canine Cantina is a unique and fun place to spend some time outdoors with your favorite canine! Furbulous!
If you are walking your furiendly pup along the Katy Trail, the Katy Trail Ice House at 3127 Routh St is pawfect for a stop! What better place to take a break and kick back with one of Dallas’s best margaritas while your fur-baby snoozes by your side in the heated and lit beer garden?
The Ice House features shady trees for summer and a roomy patio that’s heated in the winter. Outdoor TVs provide hours-long entertainment, and the eats are furtastic. Apps, burgers, salad and grilled food delight pup parents and doggos, along with breakfast tacos, venison chili and pecan pie for dessert! Texas-sourced beers and liquors quench your thirst - don’t forget the dog wine!
At the historic corner of McKinney Avenue and Monticello sits Chelsea Corner. The pup-friendly bar with great eats features two year-round patios where your tail-wagging buddy can make new friends and share your meal. Beverages include cold beer, wine and inventive cocktails.
With brunch on Saturday and Sunday, the menu includes tex-mex plates, salads, steak sandwiches and other furbulous pub food. Shareable platters keep everyone well-fed and happy. The next time you’re visiting Dallas’s historic district, a visit to Chelsea Corner has to be on your to-do list!
You’ll find Toller Patio at 3675 Ross Avenue. With its al fresco backdrop and massive, dog-friendly patio, this is sure to become one of your favorite destinations with Fido. The patio is fenced and lighted for everyone’s comfort, and its “retro-resort” decor with 14-foot palm trees is sure to please!
Just a few blocks from ten-acre Exall Park’s trails and large open grassy space, this is the pawrfect spot to take a break from walking and play to quench your thirst and get a bite to eat. Serving beer and wine, along with cocktails, Toller is laid-back and friendly. Big-screen TVs are scattered around the patio for your entertainment, whether it be football, baseball, golf or something else. Come to Toller Patio, kick back with your pooch and have some puptastic fun!
Ten Bells Tavern is a British-influenced pub with a dog-approved patio and a huge selection of beers. Pub grub will keep your stomach happy while you relax and chat with your pals, both human and furry.
Ten Bells Tavern at 232 West 7th Street serves brunch on Saturday and Sunday along with Happy Hour every weeknight, Tuesday Pint and Bite Night, and the Wednesday Pub Quiz. Whether you and your furry co-pilot are looking for easy-going fun or great eats and beers, you can have it all at Ten Bells, with a Brit point of view. Bone apetít!
