Queer Eye goes to the dogs?
In Netflix's reboot of Queer Eye, the (new) Fab Five are making over a diverse group of men and women. But in a special episode today — National Adopt a Shelter Pet Day — the Queer Eye guys take on a dog!
Lacey is a 30-pound, three-year-old “muttigree.” That is, a corgi-beagle mix with, perhaps, a little bit of basset hound. The North Shore Animal League America of New York rescued Lacey from a shelter in Tennessee where she faced possible euthanasia. North Shore also nominated her for the Queer Eye makeover — not that she needed one, of course!
How do the five makeover experts put their talents to work for Lacey? Here’s the rundown: Antoni showed her how to make peanut butter cookie treats. Jonathan performed a paw-dicure and gave Lacey a basket of grooming products. The ever-inspiring Karamo delivered words of wisdom and love. Interior Designer Bobby delivered for Lacey with a stylish and washable dog bed. And the always fashionable Tan kept her wardrobe simple with a collar-and-leash combo in basic black. “We do not appreciate clothes on dogs,” he said.
Check out the episode below — and don’t worry. You’ll see that the lovely Lacey now has a new fur-ever home.
Ciao!
