It’s easy to get caught up in the excitement of Black Friday and all those low prices. But if the savings are on products or gifts that you really don’t want to buy, that day-after-Thanksgiving shopping spree may do more harm than good — to your budget and your gift-giving.
With that — and, of course, dogs — in mind, we turned to professional dog trainer and Wag! Advisory Board member Robert Cabral. And we flipped the approach. Instead of asking Robert to tell us what Black Friday specials he’s found on must-have dog products, we asked him what are the must-have dog products, so we could keep an eye out for Black-Friday prices on them.
What we like about Robert’s list is that some items are no-brainers and some are surprises — items we wouldn’t have thought of. And yes, one of them is a Wag! product, the Wag! Tag.
Taken together, they cover a lot of a dog’s basic needs, from fun and mental stimulation to nutrition, sleep, and safety.
Kong Classic - A great product for keeping your pup entertained! Fill them with peanut butter or another yummy food and watch your dog wrestle the treats out.
Wag! Tag - A smarter dog tag that gives anyone who finds your lost pet access to their unique online profile, with info to help with a safe and speedy return.
Zuke’s Treats -Zuke’s offers a wide variety of natural treats that fuels your dog’s adventurous life. Every recipe is made without corn, wheat and soy, and free of fillers, by-products, and artificial colors or flavors.
Yeti Dog Bowl - This bowl holds eight cups of refreshing water and tasty treats, and is built with double-wall, non-insulated stainless steel making it incredibly durable, easy to clean, and resistant to rust and roughhousing.
Toad&Co Dog Bed - From cover to stuffing, the Eco Dog Bed is made with upcycled fabric and with no added water or dyes.
BAAPET 5 FT Strong Dog Leash - This leash is lightweight yet super durable and it can be used for extra-large dog breeds.
Ranger Rob Poop Bags - These poop bags have easy-tie handles for large and small dogs, are lemon-scented and eco-friendly.
Okay, so now you have seven items on your dog’s gift list. We hope the lists you have for your spouse and kids are at least as long. Otherwise, you and the pup might have some explaining to do.
