Pierce Place is a set of townhomes, found between Ridgewood Avenue and North Atlantic Avenue. Living here puts you close to the Cape Canaveral Culture and Leisure Services Department and the park around it. It also puts you close to the industrial park along North Atlantic Avenue and Center Street Park. Despite all of this, you still live in the middle of a large residential area which plenty of space to explore.
Although you are close to the industrial park, the one thing you are not close to is much in the way of stores. The nearest grocery store is a Publix Supermarket on Astronaut Boulevard in the Cornerstone Plaza. Beyond this, the main shopping amenity over on this side of the river is along the West Cocoa Beach Causeway. You can find shopping options on this side of the Banana River and on the other side in Merritt Island and Cocoa Beach.
Pierce Place is in the middle of a residential area, but it's an area where you might have a problem finding many sidewalks for you and your dog to go walking on. While traffic in the general area is generally light during the day, morning and evening rush hours tend to be a little bit busier. Since you will be walking on the streets in some parts of the neighborhood, you may want to avoid these times or find other places to go walking. You should have a fair amount of options to utilize, especially since the terrain in the area tends to be fairly flat and easy to navigate.
The other problem with living in a residential area is that during your walks, you and your dog are likely to run into more than your fair share of pedestrians on your journey. Keep your dog on a short leash and work with each person that approaches to ensure they don't startle your pup.
The Cape Canaveral Culture and Leisure Services Department is one block north and two blocks to the west. Here, there are tennis courts, shuffleboard courts, and plenty of grass for your dog to play around on. They have weekly markets along with a number of other events during the year.
If you don't mind a bit of a drive, the Cocoa Beach Public Dog Park is a fifteen-minute drive south in Cocoa Beach. The park covers 32,000 square feet and is separated into two fully enclosed areas. The park offers water in each section, plenty of chairs, and lots of shade.
The other thing that the park offers is access to the beach. The good news is that both you and your dog are both welcome on these coastal spaces! The beach gives you a great place to hike for many miles while also allowing you to enjoy the fresh ocean air and sunshine.
