Lindenwood is located in Howard Beach, Queens: one of the five major boroughs of New York City, New York. Lindenwood is largely residential and is home to many duplexes for families as well as smaller apartment complexes. The commercial spaces within the neighborhood are home to a public school, a dentist office, a few finance and healthcare-related businesses, a gym, a general shopping area with large, chain stores, and a few restaurants. For all your feeding or grooming-related needs, there is a large, nationally-known pet supply store located in Lindenwood. There is also a local groomer roughly one mile to the east of this neighborhood.

Lindenwood, like the majority of New York, has seasonal weather. The summers can be quite humid and hot while the winters can bring heavy snowfall, chilly winds, and colder days. The spring and autumn are a bit more mild, but you will still distinctly experience them.

Lindenwood is a rather flat neighborhood. There are a few changes in elevation, but nothing too dramatic that you and your pup will significantly feel them while out walking. Unfortunate for your pup, but Lindenwood is all artificial terrain with no greenways located within the neighborhood's borders. However, this neighborhood has plenty of well-maintained sidewalks and the sidewalks are typically bordered by public grassy areas which are perfect for when your pup needs a little pit stop! There are also quite a few mature trees in this neighborhood which are perfect to provide shade on those sunny, dog days of summer!

The borders of Lindenwood include South Conduit Avenue to the northeast, Belt Parkway to the south, and 78th Street and Ruby Street to the west. Linden Boulevard, located in the northern tip of this neighborhood, is another major roadway that pedestrians and dog walkers may want to avoid during high-traffic times of the day.

Unfortunately, there are no public greenways within the borders of Lindenwood. However, there are quite a few greenways for you and your pup to explore within walking distance of this neighborhood. Immediately to the south of the area, you will find the largest nearby greenway: Spring Creek Park. Much of this public park is actually undeveloped wetlands, but it does have some cricket fields for visitors to use. Additionally, Spring Creek Park has plenty of nature trails for you and your pup to explore and get a temporary reprieve from the urban lifestyle.

Other nearby parks include Tudor Park, Vito Locascio Field, Centreville Playground, Cypress Hills Playground, Robert E. Venable Park, and City Line Park. Most of these are smaller, residential parks with playgrounds and a few benches. While there are no off-leash areas or dog parks in the immediate area, Forest Park Dog Run and the Forest Park Off-Leash Area are located three miles to the north of Lindenwood.
