The villas are large, single-story duplex style homes close to the intersection of North Atlantic and Astronaut Boulevard which can be found over on the west side of the city. While the eastern end of the neighborhood is mainly residential areas, to the west, you will find more businesses such as auto repair shops, gas stations, and the local VFW post which is on the west side of North Atlantic.
There are several restaurants nearby for you and your family to sample, serving up a variety of foods. Living here puts you within walking distance of a small local food and general store where you can pick up a few necessities for your family, including a small selection of dog food for emergencies. It comes in handy when you can't make it down to the Publix Supermarket or across the causeway at the nearest Walmart Supercenter.

The one thing you and your pup will have to get used to is that you'll be living beside a busy road. While most of the traffic from the cruise lines go over the causeway or down Astronaut Boulevard, some does manage to find its way down North Atlantic. When you add this extra traffic to morning and evening local rush hour traffic, things can get pretty hectic.
Thankfully, there are sidewalks on both sides of the road. The one of the west side is quite wide and makes a much better place for you and your dog to walk. While you can walk up and down North Atlantic Avenue, you might find walking in the residential areas to the east a little easier. Here, you will find there is less traffic and plenty of sidewalks to use. Most of the streets even have plenty of trees to help keep the sun at bay.

Here in Cape Canaveral, dogs are not permitted on the beach, but thanks to a recent ordinance, they are allowed in all city parks, providing they are on a leash. While there aren't any city parks within walking distance, there are two less than five minutes away on the Banana River.
The Banana River Park has a large field of grass that is big enough to be used as a soccer field and has plenty of room for you and your dog to run around. There are a few parking spots and the park does have public restrooms, a playground for the youngsters, and shuffleboard courts for the older crowd.
Manatee Sanctuary Park is a little more of a structured park with a lake and a walkway that, not only goes around the lake, but around the entire park. The path is paved and gives you somewhere to walk while your dog enjoys the grass.
