Top dog walkers in Cocoa Isles
Wag! Walkers know Cocoa Isles
The Cocoa Isles are not true islands, but spits of land jutting out into the Banana River that have been developed and turned into massive housing developments. Most of the houses on each of the "isles" sit on the waterfront, whether directly on the river or one of the many man made canals leading in from it. All the isles sit along A1A, offering spectacular views of the river and being located within a very short drive of the beach.
When the time comes to restock your pantry or pick up a fresh bag of dog food, there is a Publix Supermarket in the Banana River Square, located at the northern end of the community. Here, you will find plenty of food for every member of the family, including the furry one. In the same shopping center, there are a couple of restaurants and a few other shops and businesses you can visit.
What is the terrain like in Cocoa Isles?
Each of the isles ends is a cul-de-sac and is densely packed with large luxury homes. With this in mind, this is a working residential community, which means a significant amount of morning and evening rush hour traffic. They are also family neighborhoods, which means that during the school year, you and your pup will also have to dodge the school buses as they run through the neighborhoods twice each day.
Some of the isles have sidewalks running along the streets, while others leave you no choice but to take your pooch walking along the roads without the protection offered by grass berms and sidewalks. Extra care will be needed during your walks and you should keep your pup on a short leash to help you maintain better control. Alternatively, you could get up early and take your daily walks before the traffic begins to build towards morning rush hour. Luckily, the terrain is flat and you should have no problem navigating your various routes.
How many greenways are there in Cocoa Isles?
Although none of the "isles" have parks or any other form of green space, you are within walking distance of three different parks and the beach. The Lori Wilson Park is closest to the northernmost isle and offers plenty of wide-open grass to run around.
A short walk to the south will take you to the Cocoa Beach Public Dog Park. Here, you and your pooch can enjoy the 32,000 square feet of fenced-in play space. There are separate sections for large and small breeds and each of these areas has a water hose for thirsty pups and plenty of chairs for you to sit in.
From the dog park, you and your dog can walk down to the beach. Here, the two of you can wander along the beach for as far as you like! The soft sand offers a workout, while the wet sand is perfect for a relaxing stroll. Enjoy the warm atmosphere with your canine companion at your side!
