Diamond Bay is home to a large condominium complex sitting on the east bank of the Banana River, just south of the West Cocoa Beach Causeway. The condos sit a block to the west of North Atlantic Avenue in the middle of a large area of grass across the road from a large parking lot. While A1A is a busy highway, living here puts you far enough away from it to not be overly affected by the noise generated by the congestion.
Living here also puts you very close to the shopping center at the corner of North Atlantic Avenue and the West Cocoa Beach Causeway. The shopping center is anchored by a Bealls Outlet Center and a Winn-Dixie supermarket where you can stock up on grub for the entire family. On the opposite corner are the Ron Jon Surf Shop and the Florida Surf Museum where you can see an extensive collection of vintage surfboards and accessories while learning about the history of surfing.
What is the terrain like in DiamoBay?
Diamond Bay has the advantage of being set back from A1A and amid large areas of grass. Traffic is limited to those who live in the condos during most of the week, but on Sundays, there is a significant increase in traffic as there are two churches within walking distance of each other and the condos are stuck in the middle. There are several advantages to having so much grass around you, the most important of which is that you don't have to take your dog for long walks along bustling A1A where you both have to deal with noisy, smelly traffic!
However, if you do decide to walk along A1A to the stores or the local McDonalds for a large sweet tea, you will find sidewalks running along both sides of the highway for your use. The one on the east side of the road is wider and in better overall condition. The flat roads and sidewalks should make it easy for any pup to stroll in the area.

Yet, the two of you can be on the beach in less than fifteen minutes if you walk slow. Thankfully, here in Cocoa Beach, you are allowed to take your dog on most areas! There are set times when dogs are permitted and they must be on a leash, so keep that in mind when visiting!
If you like the idea of being able to let your dog run around off-leash, the public dog park is less than five minutes to the south. The park has a fenced-in area that covers almost an acre. Inside are two separate areas: one for smaller breeds and one for larger dogs. There is also an entrance area with a rinse station where you can rinse your pup and cool them down!
