Top dog walkers in The Cocoa Beach Resort
Wag! Walkers know The Cocoa Beach Resort
The Cocoa Beach Resort is a large condominium located between North Atlantic Avenue and the beach. The resort is not pet-friendly, but on the other side of A1A is a vast residential area where most of the homes sit on the waterfront with direct access to the Banana River. While you can't have a dog at the Cocoa Beach Resort, if you live across the street in one of the many single-family homes, you can definitely find some space to walk through the region.
Shopping for your essential grocery needs is a breeze as the Banana River Square shopping center is just north of the resort and is anchored by a Publix supermarket. Not only will you find food for the two-legged members of your family, but also the four-legged one! If you like to eat out, there also are several restaurants and bars nearby and along A1A that are worth trying out.
What is the terrain like in The Cocoa Beach Resort?
Make no mistake, A1A is a very busy highway! It runs from just short of the Georgia state line down the coast to Key West. While most of the heavy truck traffic makes use of I-95, there is still a fairly large number of heavy haulers and delivery trucks running up and down the road at all hours of the day and night. When you add in rush hour traffic, A1A can become a noisy, congested mess.
Unless your pup has had time to become used to the sights and sounds of this level of traffic, you might want to keep your walks to the residential streets where the flat roads will make it fairly easy to get around. If you do choose to walk along A1A, the sidewalk on the east side is much wider and more suited to taking your dog for a long hike. Be sure you get out early in the morning before it becomes too warm outside.
How many greenways are there in The Cocoa Beach Resort?
The beach in this neighborhood is open to dogs from 6 to 10 AM and 5 to 7PM from 4th Street South down to the northern edge of Murkshe Park. There are pet waste bag dispensers and disposal sites at each crossover point. Imagine being out on the beach at 6AM, just in time to enjoy a long walk in the fresh morning air while the sun slowly starts to climb its way into the sky!
While you can't take your pup on the beach at the Lori Wilson Park, you can take them into the appropriate fenced-in area and let them run around off-leash with the other pups in the park. When your dog gets thirsty, there are water hoses you can use to give them a drink. Meanwhile, there are plenty of plastic chairs for you to sit on in the shade while your pooch goes off and plays.
