Wag! Walkers know Vista Del Mar Townhomes
The Vista Del Mar Townhomes sit on the corner of South Atlantic Ave and 14th Street in the lower southern part of town. Living here puts you close to the beach and the Banana River is close by to the west, but the nearest public access to the water is to the north at Ramp Road Park. Your pup is even permitted on the beach itself in this area, providing a great place to go exercise and play.
For shopping amenities, there is a Publix supermarket within a 10-minute drive with a pharmacy. You can find almost everything you need for your family, including the one with the droopy ears and waggly tail. There is more shopping north on Minuteman Causeway and then further north on the West Cocoa Beach Causeway including a Winn-Dixie supermarket. Across the river, there is a Walmart Supercenter to provide an alternative grocery store in case you're looking for something particular.
What is the terrain like in Vista Del Mar Townhomes?
Living on the corner of South Atlantic Avenue means that you will be dealing with a significant amount of traffic that starts with the morning rush hour and ends with the evening rush hour. If South Atlantic Avenue isn't busy enough, at the other end of 14th Street is South Orlando Avenue which is the other half of A1A, the major thoroughfare that runs through town. Both roads generate a lot of traffic and noise for you and your dog to deal with, but luckily, the terrain in the area is flat and easy to navigate in terms of elevation.
If you must walk along one of these streets, you'll find that there is a wide sidewalk running along the east side of South Atlantic where you and your pup should have plenty of room. Beyond this, most of the neighborhoods do not have sidewalks, so extra care is needed in these areas.
How many greenways are there in Vista Del Mar Townhomes?
There are several large parks within Cocoa Beach where you and your dog can run around and play, providing you keep your pooch on a leash. Unfortunately, the nearest parks are to the north along South Atlantic Avenue and you will have to drive to them. Luckily, it should take you less than ten minutes to load up and take your dog to the Cocoa Beach Public Dog Park. The park offers two separate areas with a wash station to rinse your dog off after playtime is over.
From the park, you can also take your pup right out onto the beach so you can enjoy the sand and surf. The beach is open from 6 to 10AM and 5 to 7PM with access from 4th Street South to Murkshe Park in the north. This gives the two of you plenty of room to roam together. During the morning hours, it's not unusual to see lots of people out with their dogs.
