The neighborhood of Broadview Manor is sandwiched between US-1 and the Indian River, less than five minutes south of the causeway going over to Merritt Island. Most of the properties here are upscale single-family homes. There is one restaurant in the community, the La Fogata Mexican & Italian Grill. Locals love the food, the staff, and the ambiance.
In this neighborhood, you are a five-minute drive away from the Walmart Supercenter where you can find most of the essentials your family needs, a complete grocery store, and a fully stocked pet section with many of the top brands of dog food and treats for your furry buddy.
If you and your pup feel like taking a walk on the beach, it's less than 25 minutes to Cocoa Beach where dogs are permitted for a few select hours out of the day. With the Florida heat being a staple of the neighborhood, those times when you can escape for a swim are definitely worth it!
The land here is flat and most of the homes have spacious yards with plenty of shade trees that are perfect for letting your family pup out to play in the backyard. All the blocks in this community have sidewalks for you and your dog to walk on, making it fairly safe for strolls.
This is a working community which translates to plenty of traffic during those pesky rush hours. Then, to further discourage you from taking your dog out for walks during these times during the school year, there are several school buses running through the area twice daily.
The best time of day to get out there and take your dog for long walks is in the early mornings. At this time of day, you and your pooch are less likely to run into much in the way of traffic and it's still cool and comfortable for both you and your pooch to go walking.
Along the Indian River, there is a wide grass berm you and your pooch can use for your walks. The view of the river from here is spectacular. If you get out early enough, you can watch the sunrise over the horizon. During the day, you can even watch the boats cruising by on the water. The berm is wide enough to have shade trees and many of those who have homes on the west side of Indian River Road have private docks out on the water to fish from.
The nearest dog park is the Fay Lake Wilderness Dog Park on Fay Boulevard. It's less than twenty minutes northwest. Like most dog parks, there are separate sections for large and small dogs. Both areas have water for thirsty pups and seating in the shade for you to enjoy while your canine companion enjoys playing and socializing with other four-legged friends.
