Top dog walkers in Henery
Wag! Walkers know Henery
Henery is a small residential area on Peachtree Street, next door to a large mobile home community and the Cocoa Beach Public Works Department. The area is a blend of residential and commercial with West King Street only a block to the south. Henery is a lightly populated block with few homes, lots of open grass, and a car wash. This entire area is quite busy because of the traffic generated by the many different types of businesses nearby.
While there are several businesses and restaurants along West King, if you want to stock up the pantry, the Publix supermarket in Rockledge Square is the closest in the area. It's less than ten minutes south on US-1. If you need more than groceries, there is a Walmart Supercenter ten minutes north where you should be able to find just about anything your family needs. The nearest pet supply store is MYDOGSWAG on Forrest Avenue and Center Street, less than five minutes to the east.
What is the terrain like in Henery?
With two mobile home parks, multiple businesses, and West King Street one block to the south, the entire area is bustling all day long. Traffic out on Peachtree Street stays steady for the most part, but becomes quite hectic during the rush hour. The one saving grace is that, on both sides of this busy road, there are wide sidewalks for you and your dog to make use of. If you must take your dog out for walks after dark, be sure you take a walking buddy for your safety.
For less traffic, you and your pooch should follow the sidewalk to the residential areas to the north of you. Not only will you and your dog run into far less traffic, but the area itself is nicer and likely to be safer. No matter where you decide to let your walks take you, be sure you always keep your dog on a short leash.
How many greenways are there in Henery?
Henery itself is more grass than buildings, but that doesn't mean you and your pooch don't crave a change from time to time. The hard part is that the nearest parks are not within walking distance. Both Provost Park on South Fiske Boulevard and the Joe Lee Smith Rec Center have vast areas of grass where you and your dog can run around and get in a little exercise.
If your pooch is like most, they probably love the idea of being able to run around with others pups without being on a leash. The nearest dog park is west on Pluckebaum Road. It's a journey of fewer than ten minutes and will make your dog's day! Barks and Recreation offers two large areas for small and large dogs, plenty of water for thirsty pups, and lots of shade for you to sit under while your playful pooch runs off and plays.
