Algonac State Park Beach

Algonac State Park is located on the St. Clair River near to Marine City, Michigan. It is the perfect place to watch the freighters from around the world. The park itself contains 1500 acres and includes a one-half mile of beachfront. The beach is narrow and, as a riverfront, is not really ideal for sunbathing and water play.  

Visitors to the Algonac State Park may take more pleasure in exploring the nature in the area, partaking in park activities, and visiting the nearby town of Algonac. The area is known for natural habitats, butterflies, and Michigan flora. Bring your rod and line, as many people like to fish from this location. The park is part of the Blueways of St. Clair. There is a string of beaches and things to do along the river. The Blueways include listings for boat launching, kayaks, greenways, and trails. 

If you want to go for the day, you can access the park and beach with a day pass. There is a picnic area near to the beach with beautiful views of the river. The park has restrooms and tables. If you choose to wander the park, you will find prairie lands and savannahs of oak trees. There is a shooting range in the park. Be careful to not wander into the shooting areas. If your dog is sensitive to gun sounds, the park may be a stressful experience. 

Dogs are allowed in the state park. Dogs must be on a six-foot leash at all times. Owners are not allowed to leave their pets unattended. Please be a responsible owner and clean up after your pet, in accordance with park rules. 

The Algonac State Park has a campground by the beach. The campground has positive reviews from visitors. The campground has beautiful views of the river. Visitors describe this as a clean, relaxing park and beach. It's Michigan, so bring sunscreen, bug spray and a sweatshirt for the changing weather.
