One of the greatest features of this beach is the shade that is provided by a few scattered trees and a pavilion-like canopy, great for both you and your pooch to step out of the hot sun for a cool-down. Comb the sand, bath in the sun or splash in the calm waters of the Bayou. Benches and tables are on site for dog owners while they watch their pooch play with new friends. Be sure to keep your dog within arm's length and always under voice command. While there are trash cans, it is uncertain whether water and clean-up bags are provided on the beach itself, so be sure to bring your own. Parking is conveniently located right next to the dog beach.
This is a pupular place, and can get crowded during peak times. Do be aware that the water can sometimes be contaminated, which can leave your pup smelling a bit funky. While washing areas are offered to help get the dirt and smell off your canine which include washing tables, brushes and shampoos, it is recommended not to go in the water if you or your pooch has an open wound. Also be sure that your pup is current on vaccinations, and licensed.
If your pup gets enough of the sun and sand, but still has some energy, check out the rest of Bayview Park! Your pup can wander this park on leash, and enjoy such amenities as picnic areas, grills, pavilions, human restrooms, and lots of walking trails.Â
Best of all, there's even a fenced-in dog park! Take that leash off again in the pawsome dog park on the other side of the parking area from the beach to enjoy separate areas for large and small dogs, benches, a shade pavilion, water fountains, and even clean-up bags. Do note that while the dog park and dog beach are open daily from 6 AM to 9 PM, the rest of Bayview Park is open 24 hours a day. Be sure to keep your pup on leash whenever outside of the designated fenced in dog areas.
For a woofderful time your pup won't soon furget, spend the day at Bayview Park's Dog Park and Dog Beach!
