Broughton Beach

Portland peeps, looking for a great new place to take your pooch? Broughton Beach is the pawrfect place for a day's getaway! With 1.3 miles of wooftastically stunning coastline to explore, you and your pooch are bound to get in a great workout. Pupperonis of all shapes, sizes, and breeds are welcome to join the fun at Portland's Broughton Beach, but do need to stay leashed to protect the animals that make this sandy haven their home. 

Though there is no cost to visit Broughton Beach's pawrific shores, you will need to pay for pawrking. A day's pawrking in the on-site lot will cost you $5. 

This pawsitively awesome beach is located across from the Portland International Airport, giving you pawsome views of the flight path of planes coming and going. The sandy shores of this woofderful riverside retreat are known for their clean grounds. There is lots of sand for Fido to enjoy, whether his mode of fun is digging, romping around, playing, or even just taking a good old fashioned snooze. 

If the weather is clear, the view from the shores is quite spectacular. You may even catch a glimpse of Mt Hood, so bring along your camera to catch some wooftastically beautiful shots! Other activities at this puptastic beach include beachcombing, fishing, sunbathing, picnicking, and walking. There are no amenities provided, so bring along some drinking water to keep your best canine pal well-hydrated. Don't forget some cleanup bags too, as you will surely need them!

Bathrooms are available on the grounds for the pawblic to use. If you fancy a picnic lunch, why not cop a squat in the sand and enjoy a snack with Fido and the fam? You'll want to tote a picnic basket from home with some snacks and treats to dig into when hunger strikes!
