Do you want to treat your dog to a refreshing splash in the cool waters of Oregon's Deschutes River? Riverbend Park's off-leash area is the perfect place to do it!
Located near Bend's Old Mill District, Riverbend Park boasts an enviable waterfront location and provides year-round river access, plenty of green space, and miles of walking and cycling paths. The park itself takes up more than 13 acres, with leashed dogs more than welcome, but there's also a 1.1-acre area specially designated for off-leash fun and games.
The highlight of this fully-fenced in dog park is no doubt the river access, providing an easy way for dogs to get into and out of the water as they please. There's also plenty of grassy space for them to roam around on, or even just lie down in the sun to dry off.
If you're the proud owner of a pint-sized pooch, they'll love stretching their legs in the small dog area. It's also worth mentioning that this is a popular spot for local dog lovers and their furry friends, so there are plenty of opportunities for socialization for both you and your canine companion.
Once you've finished swimming and playing in the off-leash area, you can pop your pet back on the leash and explore some of the walking trails that wind their way through Riverbend Park. You could work up a sweat, enjoy a relaxing picnic, or just sit back and take in the beautiful river views. There's restrooms for the humans and water fountains in the larger park, and picnic areas and shelters too.
Be sure to clean up after your pet using the bags and trash receptacles provided, and always keep your dog within sight and under your voice control. Have enough water on hand for your thirsty pup. All dogs entering the dog park must have current rabies and license tags on their collars.Â
For a furtastic day out with your furry bestie, bring them to Riverbend Park's Off Leash Dog Park and Beach!
