Elmwood/ Greilikville Park & Beach

A hidden gem found within the city of Traverse, Michigan is the Greilickville Harbor Park and Beach. The city of Traverse is situated on Grand Traverse Bay, making it the perfect place to walk your pooch. This beach is also known as the Elmwood/Greilickville Park and Beach, because it’s in the township of Elmwood and the community of Greilickville. It's one of the many beaches scattered along the Lake Michigan shoreline where you will also spot harbors. 

The Greilickville Harbor Park and Beach is a popular outdoor location for both locals and visitors. The park not only provides direct access to the beach, but it also contains a playground for the kids to monkey around on. Other amenities right on the beach include clean washroom faculties, that even feature change tables for babies as well as a volleyball court for entertainment and grills for public use. The prime location of the beach gives visitors an opportunity to watch boats entering and leaving the harbor.

This beach is very spacious, so crowding on the sand or in the water is never an issue! The beach also has a roped off swim area, that is regularly maintained. There is also a designated fishing area for anglers' to enjoy! Two covered pavilions and large trees provide adequate shade for those hot days! Both pavilions are available for rent, costing $200 for the full day.

The beach and park themselves are never closed, but it's advised to walk your pooch between sunrise and sunset so you can take in the beauty of the scenery around you! When walking your pooch, remember to tidy up any mess they make and dispose of it in the garbage cans. You are also asked to keep your pooch on a leash at all times that is no longer than six feet in length. Be mindful of other visitors by keeping the beach clean and the atmosphere positive!
