Fernandina City Beach

Ferdinanda Beach is a special, beautiful beach located on Amelia Island in Florida. It hosts 13 miles of sparkling, pristine coastline and is quite the hot spot during tourist season. With plenty of gorgeous sunset-viewing spots, miles upon miles of sand between your toes (and paws, of course), and the beautiful Gulf of Mexico spanned out in front of you, it's hard to deny that Ferdinanda beach is a haven for all those who explore it. 

Luckily, you don't have to explore it alone. You and your doggo are welcome to enjoy this hot spot together!  In fact, Ferdinanda beach doesn't just allow dogs on their beach, they welcome it, and they've shown this by adding a dog park right on the beach! 

This beachside park isn't the only area that dogs are able to explore - if you and your pooch want to walk up to the water, go for it! The only rule is that you have to keep your pup leashed. They don't specify a leash length at this beach, but we suggest keeping your dog a leash that reaches a maximum of 8 feet long. 

If you and your dog choose to explore the beachside dog park, feel free to unclip those leashes and let your dog roam free! As always, the beach asks that you come prepared to clean up after your dog and that you only leave pawprints behind - that means you always need to ensure you're cleaning up your dog's messes! We do not believe that they have bags on site, so it would be a good idea to bring some yourself.

The beach can get toasty, and with all of that running around, your pup is likely to get thirsty. Help them beat the heat by bringing water and a bowl, and by providing a bit of shade or scoping out a tree to sit under for a break.
