Located in the northeast of Menominee at Popular Point, John Henes Park is a 45-acre park surrounded on 3 sides by water and beach. So, you get to enjoy 2,600 feet of water frontage! It’s an ideal place to take your dog around the loop of the park drive. Plus, you can let your canine friend enjoy the extensive beach bordering the park.
Swimming, picnicking, fishing, biking, and rollerblading are all popular recreational activities you can do here - alone or with your dog. The place requires you to have your dog on a leash. Three partially-enclosed pavilions with electricity are also available for reservations. From the nice picnic spots to swim beach, the park offers a lot for dog owners. There are also two fountains in the park.
You can absorb the amazing views of Green Bay as well as the shoreline of Menominee and Marinette. Sometimes, during the summer, you may need to use a bug repellant. Overall, it is quite a relaxing beach. Your doggo will love the combination of beach and park at John Henes Park, as will you. The eastern shoreline is a rocky beach, making for a picnic spot and fireworks viewing area during the summer.
The park has adequate sun and shade, so you don’t have to worry about your dog or yourself getting too hot. Since there are plenty of garbage cans, the park is quite clean. Just remember to do your part, which includes using a poop bag for your canine friend.
The wide road, winding around the perimeter, is especially great for walking. You’ll see plenty of benches and picnic areas alongside. A playground and volleyball courts complement the beach area. Overall, Henes Park is an excellent place for dog owners, whether you’re here for a short while or for the better part of the day.
