Hoeft State Park-North

Hoeft State Park provides visitors with easy access to a mile of sandy beach along the shoreline of magnificent Lake Huron. A nearby trail also creates a unique experience for parkgoers. If you head over to the Huron Sunrise Trail, you can reach the world’s largest open pit limestone mine, which is certainly a site to behold. Plus, much of the trail is paved, creating an easy walking experience.

For those who want to extend their stay, campsites and a mini cabin are available to rent. Picnic tables and shelters also dot the area, creating a perfect setting for a quick meal. There’s power available at certain facilities, giving you a chance to charge your devices.

Visitors with children can also take advantage of the playground, an ideal location for letting the kids burn off excess energy while enjoying time outdoors. Mountain bikes are also welcome on the trails and, in the winter, you can snowmobile or cross-country ski through the landscape.

If you bring your dog to Hoeft State Park, make sure to clean up after them. This keeps the area pristine, ensuring everyone can enjoy their visit. You also want to be aware of other parkgoers as you walk your dog. Not everyone is comfortable around dogs, regardless of their size, so make sure to give everyone you encounter a wide berth.
