Loomis Street Dog Beach

Loomis Street Dog Beach is located in Ludington, Michigan. The dog beach is a small area by the boat launch in Ludington State Park. There are 50 yards of beach and a sandy area for your dog to run around, roam, and play in the sand. It is also a great place for them to fetch! However, keep in mind your dog should wear their leash while they are at this dog-friendly beach. You will also want to keep aware that the beach is by a large marina where lots of boats go fast through the water, so dogs that are fearful of loud noises may not enjoy this. If so, you may be better off finding a beach in a quieter area. 

At the beach and the park, you will find restrooms, lots of trash cans, and poop bag stations that are conveniently placed so you can clean up after your dog quickly and efficiently. You will also find a walking trail loop to walk your dog around as well before or after they swim and play at the beach. There are not many shady areas on this beach since there are no trees. Therefore, if you take your dog in the summer when it is hot, make sure you take plenty of cold and fresh water so your dog remains hydrated and comfortable. You can also take an umbrella with you to set up in the sand. Taking your dog early in the morning and later in the evening is also a good way to avoid the very hot parts of the day. 

Dogs should remain on a leash at all times and never be aggressive or mean to other dogs and humans at the beach and the park. Overall, Loomis Street Dog Beach is a small beach that is mostly meant as a quick place to take your dog for a dip in the water. If you are looking for a quiet and relazing place to spend some time with your god, however, this may not be your bet dog-friendly beach option.
