Matapeake Park Dog Beach

When you find yourself traveling to Stevensville, MD, and you have your favorite puppy pal with you, you will want to take a detour to the Matapeake Dog Beach inside the Matapeake State Park. This dog beach is well-known in the area because although it is not entirely a dog beach, they have created a designated area for you and your furry friend to explore without any type of restrictions. 

As per their official website, the dog beach is located through the woods away from the clubhouse and public beach. To get to the dog beach, all you need to do is take the trail there and soon you will find yourself on the edge of Chesapeake Bay. When you do take a trip to this particular beach, be mindful that you cannot take dogs onto the property with the clubhouse or public beach, meaning that if you need to use the restroom, you will need to accommodate for what your dog will be doing while you take your break. 

Speaking of bathroom breaks, when you bring your dog to this beach there are waste baskets situated around the beach but it is up to you to bring waste bags and to be responsible for picking it up. 

Many visitors truly appreciate having a beach to take their pup to and it seems that the only issues people have found with this area are the lack of restrooms available on the dog beach and the fact that it seems to sometimes get a little dirty.
