If you've ever heard of Ocean City, Maryland, you know you're missing out, but if you haven't heard of it, let us enlighten you. Ocean City Beaches in Maryland are some of the most fun, entertaining, colorful, and beautiful places to visit on the east coast. With over 10 miles total of coastline for the Ocean City beaches, there's certainly plenty of room and always something for everybody.Â
Whether you want to sunbathe and surf on the gorgeous water, hang out on the pier and boardwalk, or enjoy the sun and sand with your pup, you can do all of those things! You and your canine companion are welcome on the Ocean City Beaches for almost half the year, however, doggos are not welcome to explore during the busiest season of all- summer.Â
Here's the best way to explain it:Â Dogs are not allowed on the beach or boardwalk anytime between May 1 to September 30. Leashed dogs are allowed on the beach from October 1 to April 30. So see? It's not that they don't want your lovable pooch on the beach, they just can't have him or her running around on the sand and surf while the beaches are packed with people (and trust us, during the summer, it gets pretty packed!).
During that sweet time of the year where you and your dog are allowed on the beach, the city simply asks that you keep your dog leashed and of course, under control. Always make sure you're prepared to clean up after your dog, too!Â
