Meinert County Park

With acres of rolling sand dunes, incredible wildlife, valleys, forest areas, and gorgeous views, Meinert County Park is a huge hit amongst people from all walks of life. This is a wonderful place to visit if you want to enjoy fresh air, stunning scenery, relaxation, and wildlife. It is also an excellent place to bring your dog, as this is a pet-friendly area, although your dog does need to be leashed at all times. 

Made up of rugged areas, wetlands, and dunes, this is an excellent place for wildlife fans as it attracts a lot of different birds as well as other local wildlife. You can while away the hours taking in both the wildlife and the natural beauty that surrounds you when you come here. You can also take in some incredible views including the majestic and undeveloped dunes and the views over Lake Michigan. 

For lovers of the great outdoors and those with pooches that love to take part in outdoor adventures, this place is an absolute haven. If you feel particularly active, you can even take the trail to the top of a dune for even more spectacular views and a good workout along the way! This is the type of place where you can go to get away from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and simply enjoy a few hours in peace and quiet with just your thoughts and your four-legged friend for company. 

While this is definitely not your traditional beach area, it is a wonderful place if you prefer to be away from the crowds and want to get closer to nature. Being able to take your pooch along is an added bonus and you can be certain that they will love the chance to explore the area and watch the wildlife with you.
