Description

On the west side of Lopez Island, you will find the dog-friendly Otis Perkins County Day Park. Located on Fisherman's Bay, this is one of the longest beaches in the San Juan Islands, with nearly a full mile to explore. Of course, there is always the option to sit and enjoy the view of San Juan Channel, the distant shoreline of San Juan, the floating planes land and take off, and the many birds that make the accompanying salt marsh area their home.

There is a mile of paved road that runs parallel to this secluded beach. It offers a great walking, running, or biking trail for you and your dog.

You will find the entire Lopez Island to be pet-friendly. The park is in walking or biking distance to the Lopez Island Village. If you enjoy giving your furry friend a brisker run, or maybe a cozy basket seat, there are shops in the Village where you can rent a bike and a bike stand to secure it in the Otis Perkins Day Park parking lot. While every storefront in the Village does not allow dogs to enter, many of them have dog water bowls outside their stores for your pet. After enjoying a day at the beach you can eat dinner on the outside patio of one of many welcoming restaurants and then head to one of many dog-friendly accommodations for the night.

Worried about the weather? Don't be. The islands boast a year full of sunshine staying around 70 degrees in the summer and 40 degrees in the winter.

One of the great things about the San Juan Islands, the public parks and beaches are all dog-friendly! Pets must be leashed at all times, trash and dog poop must be cleaned up as every visitor is asked to leave the area as they find it, and chasing or harassing the wildlife in any way is prohibited.

Enjoy the natural beauty of Fisherman's Bay at Otis Park. Soak in the sun and the salt air and do it all in the company of your favorite furry friend.

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
