Pier Park Beachfront/ Pier Park Dog Beach is Panama City Beach's only dog-friendly beach. Panama City Beach is known as a very pup-friendly area to bring your pooch along for a vacation or day outing. Lining the beach are multiple restaurants that allow dogs in their outdoor seating areas based on the city ordinance, as well as pup-friendly places to stay (hotels, campgrounds, and rental houses). The area surrounding the dog beach also includes a shopping center for all ages.
Located 400 feet West (to the right) of the City Pier on Front Beach Road, this beachfront spot has been reviewed as a "decent" sized area to allow your dog to stretch their legs and walk along the shoreline. As it is not well marked, the dog park can be hard to find when arriving in Panama City Beach. Using the Pier as a landmark will be very helpful. Vast white sand and clear water make up one of the few dog-friendly beaches in Florida; therefore, many dog owners and dog lovers alike flock to this area. With that, please be sure to properly assess your dog's social skills and comfort levels before entering the park.
Even though your dog is required to be on a leash, they must also listen well to voice commands and you must keep them close to you at all times as to not disturb other humans and dogs alike in the park. The park is also said to be very clean by those who have visited. Please use the provided baggies and clean up stations to dispose of your canine's waste and help keep it clean for those who visit after you.
The law requires all dogs to be up to date on vaccines! It is also required that your dog has tags with identification. Dogs younger than 4 months as well as female dogs that are in heat are not allowed in the park. To prevent temptations/ fighting between dogs, please do not bring food or chew toys with you to the park. Other dogs will get jealous and try to steal the toys. Should your dog start a problem, you will be asked to leave.
Keep in mind that there is minimal shade and the sand can burn your pooch's feet. Please plan accordingly to ensure your pup has a good place to rest and cool off!
