Sandbridge Beach
The ocean waters are so warm and refreshing that you'll want to grab your barkini and dive in as soon as possible! Fido is welcome to join you for a swim or even just to catch some rays along the coast. But the local Virginia pawlice do require that you keep your best canine pal on a leash when out in pawblic.
Sandbridge Beach is well-renowned for its pawrifically clean grounds. It is also home to sand dunes that you and your best canine pal can explore; they are sure to deliver a doggone good workout! There are other woofderful activities for Fido and the whole fam to enjoy including picnicking, hiking, fishing, and even surfing. Looking for something for the kiddoes to do? Sandbridge Beach has a fantastic playground just for kids to explore.
There is a $5 pawrking fee to access this beach. Bathrooms with showers are available for the pawblic to use, and there are also lifeguards on duty in season. Don't forget that Sandbridge Beach observes seasonal hours. During peak season, dogs are only allowed on the beach and boardwalk before 10 AM and after 6 PM during peak season in the summer months from Memorial Day to Labor Day. During the fall, winter and spring from Labor Day to Memorial Day, dogs can romp on the beach and boardwalk anytime. Just be sure that your dog is leashed at all times, regardless of the season.
In case you think you might need a snack or two, be certain to pack a beach bag filled with food and bottled water. Don't forget to throw in some cleanup bags as you will need them, for sure!
