Each boardwalk is connected to outdoor showers and bathrooms. When you pack your beach bag, don't forget to include some "doggy essentials" too! Fido will definitely be looking forward to wetting his whistle with some bottled water, and later, you may need some cleanup bags to take care of any canine waste. A snack or two would never go amiss, and while you're at it, pack one for you too!
Parking is easily accessible. You should note that the parking lot at First Landing State Park is fee-based. Parking is $5 per vehicle for Virginia Beach residents and $7 for those residing elsewhere. At extremely busy times of the year, most typically holidays such as Memorial Day, the 4th of July, and Labor Day, the cost of parking increases to $7 per vehicle for locals and $9 for all others.
