South Ponte Vedra Beach Recreation Area

Come visit South Ponte Vedra Beach Recreation Area in the historic City of St. Augustine, for a walk with Fido you won't forget. St. Augustine is situated on the northeast coast of Florida and is known for being the oldest city in America. Within Saint Augustine, you will find the beautiful South Ponte Vedra Beach Recreation Area, which is an extension of Ponte Vedra Beach itself. 

South Ponte Verda Beach Recreation Area welcomes all pups of all sizes. Ponte Vedra Beach is very lenient when it comes to dogs, allowing them to walk the beach at all times, meaning there are no times restrictions for walking your pup. You are recommended, however, to walk them between sunrise and sunset. During your walk, you’re asked to keep your dog on their leash at all times while on the beach. The only time you dog is permitted off leash is when they are splashing around in the water, as long as you can maintain voice control over your four legged-friend! You’re also asked to bring bags for any waste your pups makes, and to dispose of it responsibly in the trash bins! As South Point Vedra Beach is located right on the Atlantic Ocean, you are also advised to bring fresh and clean drinking water for your pooch to maintain their hydration.

Although there are limited amenities found in Ponte Vedra Beach Recreation Area, it's still the perfect place to walk your pooch. At this location, you will find picnic tables for public use, as well as trash receptacles. Unfortunately there are no restrooms or shower facilities, but there are grills available for the public, as well as a walkover making it easy to access the beach. Off-beach parking is limited, so if you plan to visit this beach, try to arrive early to beat the crowd!
