Tannery Beach
It is becoming increasingly popular for people and dogs to go to this beach, so the crowds are beginning to grow at this location, but it still makes for a beautiful and fun experience for everyone. The good news is, most people come to this beach to play with their dogs and let them run around in the water, so you do not have to worry about people laying out on the beach.
The beach is on Lake Charlevoix, which is not generally known for soft and sandy beaches. Instead, it is rockier and "ruff," but that does not have to stop you and your dog from swimming in the beautiful lake or lounging out in the sun on the beach. You can also find some green and grassy areas along the lake as well if you would like to take your pup to play fetch on the grass. The grass is also a great spot to bring some lunch with you and eat a picnic. Bring some treats and fresh, cold water for your dog as well, so they don't overheat or become dehydrated.
This dog-friendly beach is frequented by dogs and their owners for a place to swim in the cool waters on a hot and steamy summer day! Dogs are allowed on the beach and in the water during all months and times of the day. We love that this beach offers poop bogs - and even pooper scoopers to clean up after your dog on the beach. It is convenient and makes for a hassle-free experience.
