The quaint Town of Topsail Beach is a perfect place for you and your pooch to visit if you're looking for a year-round, dog-friendly beach surrounded by the Atlantic Ocean. The town is located on the south side of Topsail Island, found just off the coast of southeastern North Carolina. Topsail Island has a unique beach that runs along a 26-mile long, thin stretch of land. The beach is divided into three sections to accompany the three communities found on the island.
The Town of Topsail Island is the smallest of the three communities, but it's the one with the beach that gives our pooches the privilege of being off-leash. Though the off-leash policy is not year round (please see Special Hours), you and your pooch are both welcome on the beach at all times!
Throughout the on-season, your dog must remain on a leash at least 20 feet or less in length. Dog owners are also always expected to carry doggy bags and be prepared to clean up after their pup! On the beach, you and your pooch will observe an assortment of activities, including beach volleyball, surfing, fishing, and of course, swimming.
Topsail Island is known for its fondness of dogs, and there are a variety of activities for you and your pooch to partake in within the town, if you decide to venture off the beach. If you're looking to grab a bite to eat, you can find outdoor eating for you and your pup at The Beach Shop and Grill or you can swing by Cora's Isle-End Deli, for a delicious sandwich. You and your pooch are also welcome to take a walk in the Topsail Beach Town Center and Park, where you can enjoy the luscious fields and refreshing nature air.
If you and your pup ever find yourself in the North Carolina Area with some time to kill, don't forget the town of Topsail Beach not only offers a phenomenally welcoming experience on the beach, but also in the town as well!
