Kure Beach is located in beautiful North Carolina. The beach is long and skinny and is quite popular. You are allowed to have your dog on the beach certain times of the year so long as they are leashed.
The beach is long and sandy. It’s the perfect place to take a stroll, have a picnic, or enjoy the water. It also boasts the oldest fishing pier on the Atlantic Coast. There are public restrooms available at the Ocean Front Park. However, they are only open from 8 am - 9 pm from Memorial Day to Labor Day. The restrooms are closed December through March 13. Any days that do not fall within these timeframes, the restrooms are open between 8 am and 5 pm. So, keep this in mind while planning your trip.
The beach is home to many events, year-round. So, it’s not hard to find something fun to do. If there are no events happening, there’s always the nearby North Carolina Aquarium at Fort Fisher. If you’re a history buff, there’s also the Fort Fisher State Historic Site.
Kure Beach does allow your dog to join you on the beach between October 1 through March 31. Your dog must be leashed, and the Kure Beach website mentions that Ft. Fisher State Recreation Area allows dogs year-round. So, you’re not totally out of luck if you’re visiting between April 1 through September 30.Â
While on the beach, it’s always important to be courteous to other beach-goers. Maintain control of your dog and make sure they play nicely with people and other dogs on the beach. It’s also crucial to clean up after your pup. So, be sure to bring bags to dispose of their poop. Also, if you plan on being out all day, be sure to bring food and water for your dog.
Kure Beach is the perfect place to relax or have your next adventure!
