Town of Sunset Beach

Cotton candy sunsets, soft sand on your feet, and that East Coast Atlantic water lapping at your heels - the town of Sunset Beach is like heaven. The best news? It doesn't have to just be heaven for you! You and your four-legged best friend can enjoy Sunset Beach, North Carolina - one of the most beautiful, friendliest, and picture-perfect beaches on the East Coast - together. 

One look at this beach and you'll think it's too good to be true, but we promise, you and your doggo are more than welcome to stroll the sandy coastline together. You and your pup are permitted to hang out on the beach so long as you always keep your doggo leashed (they don't specify a leash length, but we suggest a solid 8 feet should do be the maximum). That being said, there are a few rules and regulations. 

The Town of Sunset Beach asks that you and your dog avoid the beach strand together between 8 am and 6 pm during their busy season,  including the time between the Friday preceding Memorial Day all the way through to Labor Day. You and your pooch are gladly welcomed on the beach during the busy season so long as you abide by those hours.

Additionally, you and your pup are required to deal with doggo messes as soon as they happen, so be sure to clean up after your dog (and be prepared with doggo pooper scoopers or bags). Failing to clean up after your dog could result in citations and expulsion from this gorgeous beach, so make sure you're prepared!
