4 Paws Kingdom Campground & Dog Retreat

4-Paws Kingdom and Campground Pet Retreat is the ultimate vacation location for canines and adults 18 years of age and older. This one of a kind dog-campground is actually the only campground in the United States that is completely and utterly dedicated to dogs. 4-Paws prides itself on its extraordinary location situated at the bottom of the Blue Ridge Mountains in North Carolina. What do we mean by this? Well for starters, the campground has four large dog parks inside, for both large and small pups, where your pooch is free to roam off leash at all times as long as they remain under your control. As the park is dedicated to dogs, there are a variety of off-leash areas for your pooch to explore, including the parks. When outside of the off-leash areas, however, you are asked to keep your pup on a leash at all times.  

To accompany the dog parks, the campground also has an Agility Park. Here, you and your pup are free to explore and test their skills by weaving through polls, using the teeter totter or strutting down the dog walker.

To cool your pooch off after visiting the parks, hit up the designated fenced-in swimming pond and jump in with your pup for a swim. At this spot, you both can enjoy the peaceful waters of the pond while admiring the naturalistic environment that surrounds you. Since the pond is dedicated to dogs, there is no leash requirement while inside of the fence.

After you finish up at the pool, treat your pup by taking them to their very own pet spa. Once at the spa, you can pamper your pooch in the Doggy Bathhouse, then take them to the Grooming Station for some TLC. After you’re done giving your pooch all the love you can, feel free to visit your own human shower station, where you can freshen and use flushable toilets.  

Your accommodations at 4-Paws are definitely going to be comfortable as the campsite only permits RVs. If you don't own an RV, it's no issue, as you can rent one from the site, or you can enjoy staying in one of the quaint cottages readily available for rental.
