Aspen Glade

Located in the Rio Grande National Forest, Aspen Glade is a beautiful campground that welcomes pups! This campground features three loops: Loops A, B, and C. All three loops are surrounded by ponderosa pine trees that keep the campsites shady and cool. Loop C is also located on the Conejos River, and it offers great views of the water. Nightly rates start at $20 for a single site. While you’re at Aspen Glade, you and your dog will find plenty of furrific things to do together.

If you and your dog love hiking, Aspen Glade is a great choice for you. The campground is just a short drive from beautiful Sheep Creek Trail, a 3.7-mile trail that takes you through the forest and along lovely Sheep Creek. As you’re walking, you may get to see some of the Rio Grande National Forest’s native wildlife, including deer, elk, and a wide variety of birds. You and your pup will both have fun hiking here!

Aspen Glade is also a great choice for anyone who loves fishing. You can try your luck fly-fishing in the Conejos River, which is adjacent to the campground. This river is home to brown trout and rainbow trout. If fishing isn’t your thing, you and your pup can also sit on the riverbank and enjoy the peaceful view of the water.

At the end of the day, you and your pup can relax at your campsite, which comes with its own campfire ring and picnic table. Firewood is available at the campground -- please don't bring your own, as this can promote the spread of harmful pests. You and your dog will both have a great time relaxing by your roaring fire!
