Baker Creek

Do you like spending time in the woods beside a beautiful lake? Baker Creek State Park offers camping along Lake Thurmond in the South Carolina Heritage Corridor, giving visitors the perfect place to enjoy the outdoors. With access to a lake, a creek, and acres of forest, this state park has all the features you need for a successful camping vacation.

There are 50 sites at this campground, some of which offer electric hookups and can accommodate rigs up to 40 feet in length. There are also group camping options with more primitive amenities. General admission will cost you $2 and nightly camping rates start at $10. If you plan on bringing an RV, you'll be happy to know that there is a dump station on-site. Within the park, there is also a pavilion which can be rented out for around $100 per day. 

Baker Creek has all kinds of fun on offer for campers. A boat ramp provides easy access to the lake, where visitors can head out for water skiing, fishing, or joy riding around the shores. For on-land activities, why not head out with your pooch for a hike or try your luck at geocaching, as the park has multiple caches? You'll also find great mountain biking trails and a playground where small campers can burn off some extra steam.

Doggos are allowed to join you at Baker Creek State Park, provided they are on a standard 6-foot leash at all times. Any canines that are loud or who scare other campers or wildlife will not be permitted to stay. As always, please clean up after your woofer's bathroom breaks throughout your stay so that other dogs are welcome to visit for years to come.
