The Big Bear RV Park and Campground is a cozy, but extensive campground in Gateway, Alaska that offers you and your pooch the ultimate Alaskan getaway. A huge facility, this park has a total of 47 RV sites, 6 cabins, and 6 tent sites. There are showers, wifi, dump stations, picnic tables, fire rings, and a playground, too!Â
What's better, this facility provides you and your pooch with a laundry room, a phone, available TVs, games, book and video exchanges, and of course, hot showers and flushable toilets! There is potable water throughout the entire campground for guests who choose electric-only sites, and there are even spots to fill up your propane tank or exchange your tank for a new, filled tank. Â
It's the perfect location for you and your pet if you're looking to explore the wonderland that is Alaska! However, unlike many campgrounds (especially in this area), there are very strict policies that go hand-in-hand with having your pet join you during your campground experience.
For starters, your doggo has to be on a leash at all times. Sorry, folks, no free-range doggos here. You are also not allowed to bring your four-legged friend into any of the buildings unless they are specifically pet-friendly designated. You're required to pick up after your pet, of course, and doggie waste bags are provided outside of the entrance of the park for your convenience (you'll never have an excuse not to pick up after your doggo now).Â
You're not permitted to tie up your dogs and leave them. Ensure that you're not allowing your dogs to dig, and remember that you'll be responsible for any and all damages that your dog causes. Any aggressive or excessive barking dogs will be asked to leave the park.Â
