Description

Do you want to stay at a friendly campground way up in the Colorado mountains? Canyonside Campground could be the perfect destination for you if you are looking for a family-owned place to lay your head. They offer all types of camping to suit every traveler's needs, and they are close to many natural attractions -- including the Cache La Poudre River (a river named by trappers in the 1820s).

Canyonside is proud to offer RV sites with full hookups, five cabins each with different themes, and a vast tenting area for folks to set up camp. Because smoke has a habit of hanging in the air against the mountainside, fires can only be had in the designated fire pits around the grounds. Those staying in cabins will have access to wifi, along with their own washrooms and kitchens. This campground advertises as "420-friendly", and alcohol is allowed on the premises -- all that is asked is that you respect other campers with your festivities.

People love this area because of how close it is to the wonders of Colorado. The Cache La Poudre River is excellent for whitewater rafting, tubing, kayaking, and fishing, while hiking trails abound close by. Canyonside is also close to many restaurants and bars, with one eatery located right across the road! There are lots of lakes to visit only a short drive away, and sometimes the drive itself is pretty amazing!

Canine campers are welcome here; however, they must be registered with the front desk and they do come with an extra fee of $10 per night. That fee bumps up to $25 for pups staying in the cabins. The park asks that you keep your doggo leashed at all times, and that you clean up any messes they leave behind promptly and properly.

There are bears in the area, so to avoid attracting them -- it is best to keep all food locked and hidden in your vehicle if you are tenting. It also should be noted that you are at a high elevation here, and elevation sickness is a real thing that you need to prepare for.

If you want a friendly home base while you explore the sights of Colorado, add Canyonside Campground to your list of places to stop at!

Wag! does not allow or encourage Pet Care Providers to bring dogs to parks.
