Chalk Lake Campground, as its name suggests, lies just outside of Chalk Lake in Chaffee County, Colorado. It is known for its picturesque canyon setting, and it draws in countless campers every season. It is a popular campground among locals and visitors alike, and its well-kept facilities, convenient location, and beautiful scenery make it the perfect place for your next camping trip. The campground is pet-friendly, so you can even bring your dog with you!

There are 19 sites to choose from at Chalk Lake Campground, and each site can accommodate up to eight campers. The fee for camping is $22 per night, but if you just plan on staying during the day, the fee is reduced to $7. When you arrive at the campground, you’ll find a self-service fee station, one of the many convenient amenities available to campers. The campground also has fire rings, picnic tables, and water available. If you want to partake in some recreational activities while you’re there, you’ll have plenty of options to choose from. Chalk Lake and Chalk Creek are both close to the campground, and they provide an excellent opportunity for trout fishing. There are also numerous trailheads in the area, so you will have lots of places to hike. The Cascade Loop Trail is a popular choice, as well as the Chalk Creek Trail and the Colorado Trail.

When you’re camping at Chalk Lake Campground, remember that your furry friend must remain leashed at all times. You should take measures to store and dispose of food safely because you are in an active bear zone. Note that this is a high-elevation campground, and you should take the appropriate precautions if traveling from a low-elevation area.
