At Clarks Ferry Campground, campers can leave their worries behind. Located in Montpelier, Iowa, the campground is a fantastic riverside camping destination. It rests on the bank of the Mississippi River, providing campers with an opportunity to enjoy lots of recreational activities. The campground also has top-notch amenities and beautiful scenery that will make your visit unforgettable. More importantly, the campground is dog-friendly, so you can camp out with your best furry friend!
There are 45 sites at Clarks Ferry, and each site is equipped with a picnic table, campfire ring, and 50-amp electric hookups. The nightly fee for a site is $25, and a group shelter site is also available for $25 per night. Other amenities at the campground include drinking water, a dump station, a boat ramp, a fishing dock, a horseshoe pit, and even volleyball courts! If you want to have a campfire, you can purchase firewood right on the premises. The campground has a fantastic setting in a peaceful wooded area by the river, and you'll have plenty of shade from the surrounding trees, making it the pawfect place to relax on a summer day.
As you can imagine, there are lots of fun ways to enjoy your time at the campground; you can enjoy a friendly game of volleyball or go fishing for catfish, bluegill, or walleye. But you might want to venture out and explore some of the activities available in the surrounding area as well. Two of the more popular destinations are Shady Creek Recreation Area and Wildcat Den State Park. You can find some great trails at these locations, and they are also wonderful spots for wildlife viewing — remember to pack your binoculars!
With all these fun activities and so much more to enjoy, it shouldn't come as a surprise that Clark's Ferry is very pawpular! Making reservations several months in advance is recommended to avoid disappointment.
